Having a dual monitor setup (2x monitors) is a great way of increasing productivity and making normal day-to-day tasks on your computer much easier. The dual-screen systems that we offer can vary in terms of how they connect to the screens, with a number of different connection types that you can see below -

It will be easy to distinguish which ports you will be using on the back of your PC, as we will always supply the correct cables in the box with your machine. Occasionally, an adapter will be supplied which can convert a particular cable to a different connection. You can see a Display Port to VGA adapter below -

This adapter will plug into a Display Port on the back of your PC, and then a VGA cable will plug into the other end of the adapter and then into one of your monitors.

Once you have connected the monitors to the PC and switched it on, there are a few options you can change in Windows to adjust the behaviour of your 2 screens.

1. Select Start > Settings > System > Display. Your PC should automatically detect your monitors and show your desktop. If you don't see the monitors, select Detect.

2. In the Multiple displays section, select an option from the list to determine how your desktop will display across your screens. For most users they choose to extend their display which is the default setting, the other option is to duplicate the monitor screens.

3. Once you've selected what you see on your displays, select Keep changes.

You can change the resolution of your displays. However, we suggest using the recommended resolution to get the most out of your displays.

How to rearrange your displays on Windows 10

While you can connect a monitor to any available video ports on the graphics card, when setting up a dual-monitor or triple-monitor setup, it's easy to plug them in the wrong order. Although they will still work, you may run into issues using the mouse and running applications until you rearrange them correctly.

To rearrange monitors on Windows 10, use these steps:

1. Open Settings.
2. Click on System.
3. Click on Display.

4. Under the "Select and rearrange displays" section, drag and drop each display to rearrange them according to their physical layout on your desktop.

• Quick tip: When rearranging monitors in the "Display" settings page, make sure that all monitors align at the top perfectly. Otherwise, you'll have problems moving the mouse cursor between monitors from the corners.

• Click the Apply button.

Once you complete the steps, Windows 10 will save the physical layout, and you'll be able to work across each display and run apps without issues.

If you're not sure which monitor you're selecting, click the Identify button to figure out. If one of the monitors isn't showing up, make sure it's receiving power and connected correctly, and click the Detect button. In the case that you're still having problems, reset their connections (or restart the computer), and try the Detect button again.
